The 66th International Venice Film Festival will run from 2nd to 12th September 2009 in Lido di Venezia. This year, major world cinema actors will walk over Palazzo del Cinema red carpet, as tradition rules . Many events are scheduled for this edition and the Festival will include also a pre-opening night with the screening of Mario Monicelli’s The Great War, on Tuesday September 1st; the director will participate in the event.
The official opening will be on Wednesday, September 2nd, the ceremony will be hosted by Maria Grazia Cucinotta and followed by the world première of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Baaria. Five international juries (Venezia 66, Orizzonti, Controcambo Italiano, Corto Cortissimo, Opera Prima), finally, will assign official awards at the end of the festival, on Saturday 12th September. |
